After getting my hair cut and colored mid last week, I felt great over the weekend! I grabbed my husband and took him into my studio to help me achieve some wonderful self maternity portraits since I only have 5 weeks to go before I reach my due date, and only 2 more weeks until I’m full term. I wanted to make sure that I had some done before the baby was born, and since I felt great, I figured it was the perfect opportunity. This week, I hope to be able to achieve some outdoor maternity portraits, but am not pushing my limits. I went over everything I could with my husband so that he knew what he needed to do to help me capture some great moments. Unfortunately, neither of my children wanted to take part in the portraits.
I do have maternity portraits in color, but these are my favorite’s and I think they look best in black and white.

Most likely, this session with myself will probably be my last session until near the end of summer time when I’ve had the baby and am feeling refreshed again!

“The mother loves her child most divinely, not when she surrounds him with comfort and anticipates his wants, but when she resolutely holds him to the highest standards and is content with nothing less than his best.”
~Hamilton Wright Mabie
This evening, I had the opportunity to meet a gorgeous pregnant mom and her husband and beautiful daughter. They were really wonderful to work with. One of the nicest families I’ve ever met. P was just willing to do just about anything I asked of her. Thanks P for giving me this opportunity! You are simply glowing and your little family was absolutely amazing through the process.

J was sooo beautiful! Her gorgeous blue eyes were stunning and her long hair for just being a year old was so pretty! I am envious of the hair, as both my daughter’s hardly have any hair - even my oldest at age 3. Little J was quick now that she’s walking, but we managed to get some really cute shots of her. She absolutely LOVED the chair! Thank you Mr. and Mrs. H for giving me the opportunity to photograph your little beauty! I’d be happy to have as a model anytime!

No portraits for today but I did want to announce something that I’m very excited about! I am now offering………
PORTRAIT PARTIES!
Would you like to host a portrait party? Here’s how it works, I, Heather Chapman, the photographer, will bring all of my equipment, including a few props and backdrops. You, as the hostess are responsible for the invites, collecting the session fee ($50 for each guest/session) of up to 10 people (10 sessions, equals to about 5 hrs total… this all depends on you and how long you want me in your home), and scheduling the sessions a 1/2 hour apart from each other. You’ll want to probably provide snacks and refreshments for your guests as well, but again, this is totally up to you. You can choose when your guests arrive, but I recommend about 10-15 minutes before their scheduled session time. I’ll need a place that is cleared out for me to setup.
Your guests will receive:
A 20 minute mini-session and receive 5 to 10 proofs to choose from
A Complimentary 8×10 and TWO complimentary 5×7’s
30% off Additional Prints
As the hostess, you will receive:
The portrait party session for FREE
A Complimentary 8×10
10% off every $50 that your guests spend
If you are interested in booking a portrait party, please contact me!
